Robert E Roberts - Sigourney News Review

Roberts, age 80, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at the VA Hospital, in Iowa City, of complications after surgery, resulting from a fall.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Millersburg Community Center, Millersburg.  A memorial fund has been established.  Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.Robert is survived by his wife Nancy; his five children Terry (Sharon) Roberts, Marengo, Troy (Sue) Roberts, Vinton, Tracy (Mark) Hammes, Delta, Trisha Martinson (Trent Hootman) Corey Martinson, Williamsburg, and Travis Roberts, Kansas City, KS; 12 grandchildren Jessica, Jennifer, Jim, Jake, Janet, Tyler, Taralyn, Amie, Robert, Mitchel, Shelby and Lexie; 19 great grandchildren; six siblings John (Oma) Roberts, Marion, Loretta (Orlen) Glandorf, Williamsburg, Dave (Judy) Roberts, Green Valley, AZ, Jim (Faythe) Roberts, Marengo, Pat (Herman) Imhoff and Kay (Gary) McMann, Marengo; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.  He is also survived by his best friend Denny McCaw.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Sam and a sister Helen Armknecht.  Robert was born April 16, 1939, in rural Williamsburg, the son of Harold R. and Leona (Runyon) Roberts. He attended country schools in Pilot Township, in rural Williamsburg.  Robert enlisted in the U.S. Navy for three years, serving on the U.S.S. Valley Forge.  Robert married Nancy Slaymaker on March 18, 1961, at Trinity U.C.C., in rural Marengo. He worked for many construction businesses in the area.  Robert owned and operated R & R Drywall in Williamsburg for 50 years until retiring in 2013.  Throughout his lifetime, Robert enjoyed family get togethers and his visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, bowling and annual trips to Colorado.  The bluebird family tradition lives on!The family wishes to thank all the doct...

Robert Wagner, 83 - Iowa City Press Citizen

Wagner, 83, Marengo, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. He died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Andrew Gray will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements. Robert Lee Wagner was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Lacey, the son of Clarence and Nina Stout Wagner. He attended the Deep River schools. Robert and Joan Shine were married March 17, 1956. This union was blessed with four sons. She died May 8, 1973. Bob farmed with his brother-in-law Wilbur Shine. He then worked with Mel Uridil as a mechanic in Victor. On Aug. 9, 1975, he married Jacqueline Wagner in Marengo. The couple made their home in Marengo, where Bob worked for many years with the Chevy Garage and Breezes Auto Parts. He owned and operated the Phillips 66 Station in Marengo for several years. He eventually went to work at Amana Refrigeration, retiring from there. Bob enjoyed fishing and repurposing discarded treasures. He and Jackie enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. But his passion was woodworking. Many of his beautifully crafted items were given to his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
